Chinese donghua fans, get ready for an exciting new addition to your watchlist! A spin-off series of the critically acclaimed 2016 film Big Fish and Begonia has been officially announced. Titled Big Fish and Begonia: The Story of Rong Song, or simply Rong Song, and some even call it The Legend of Melting Pines, this new Chinese anime series promises to continue the enchanting story of the young girl Chun and the spirit boy Kun, albeit such is not the case as the previously unveiled teaser trailer gives us a different point of view as it showcases two minor characters from the film – Chi Song Zi the god of rain, and Zhu Rong the god of fire.
Produced by B&T Studio, the same studio behind the original film, and in collaboration with Tencent Production, a leading Chinese animation studio known for its hit series like Mo Dao Zu Shi and The King’s Avatar, Big Fish & Begonia: The Story of Rong Song is set to be a highly anticipated release.
