The Spring 2026 season has officially arrived, and it is proving to be an absolute powerhouse for every kind of fan. From high-fantasy epics and long-awaited sequels to grounded dramas that hit a little too close to home, there is a lot to keep track of.
Here is a look at my favorite titles from the lineup so far and why they should be on your radar.
Best Spring 2026 Anime: What’s Worth Your Time?
Witch Hat Atelier
This is my undisputed top anime of the season. It is a pure cinematic experience—a rare blend of compelling storytelling and top-notch high fantasy. If you were a fan of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the magical world-building here will feel like coming home.
Dorohedoro (Season 2)
Finally, the chaos is back! I’m here for all the blood, gore, and obnoxious energy. It remains one of the most visually “appalling” (in the best way possible) series out there. It’s quirky, different, and never afraid to push boundaries.
Marriagetoxin
This was the season’s biggest surprise for me. Going in blind without reading the manga, it struck my heart immediately. It shares that fun, unadulterated chemistry found in Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens—just pure entertainment that goes beyond expectations.
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods
If you need a “healing” experience, this is it. As someone who loves the atmosphere of Natsume’s Book of Friends and the coziness of Campfire Cooking in Another World, this show is pure comfort in animated form.
Nippon Sangoku: The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun
This is purely cinematic and modern—a real piece of animated art. Set in a fractured, near-future Japan that has regressed into a new “Three Kingdoms” era, it follows a strategist who uses eloquence and brilliance instead of just raw force. The visual direction is bold and distinct; it feels like a high-end production that isn’t afraid to be experimental. It’s easily one of the most sophisticated watches of the Spring 2026 lineup.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Season 4)
Rimuru is back, and the scale this time is unprecedented with a massive 5-cour commitment. It remains one of my favorite isekai of all time. While some fans find the heavy dialogue and “meeting” episodes a bit slow, I honestly love every second of it. It’s the ultimate comfort anime for me—watching the nation-building, the steady plot buildup, and knowing that something epic is always simmering just beneath the surface. It’s good to have our favorite slime back in the weekly rotation.
Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring
Coming from the author of Violet Evergarden, you expect a certain level of beauty, and this does not disappoint. It is a spectacular visual journey with great animation and an increasingly interesting plot.
Daemons of the Shadow Realms
Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) is back with what feels like another peak shounen in the making. While it’s building its foundation right now, it is promising enough to keep the hype high for every new episode.
A Hundred Scenes of AWAJIMA
This is another cinematic triumph. It reminds me of the depth found in Journal with Witch, proving to be gorgeous, relatable, and everything but simple. It’s a deep dive into human connection that stays with you.
Akane-banashi
For fans of Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, this is the perfect watch. It makes the world of Rakugo fun and hilarious, keeping you hooked on every performance.
Ascendance of a Bookworm (Season 4)
Having followed this series since the beginning, seeing Rozemyne navigate the complexities of the noble’s quarter is incredibly satisfying. It’s a rewarding watch for long-time fans.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword (Season 2)
Will is back, but the stakes feel different. The animation has leveled up, which is perfect for the drama and tragedy currently unfolding in the story.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- (Season 4)
The tension and trauma are back in full force. It’s a complex, well-written nightmare that we just can’t seem to look away from. We’re all suffering together, and we love it.
The Ramparts of Ice
This Netflix series is grounded, relatable, and handled with incredible care. It feels like it could be anyone’s story, treating its themes with the respect they deserve.
Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk
Spring 2026 is a massive win for Yuri fans. This series is simple, heartfelt, and the perfect way to relax after a long day.
MAO
From the legendary Rumiko Takahashi (InuYasha), this is a must-watch for fans of her classic style and supernatural storytelling.

I haven’t dived into Classroom of the Elite Season 4 or Dr. Stone: Science Future (Cour 3) just yet, but having been a fan since day one, they are next on my list. Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses!
